Pizza Hut’s $5 Commercial With Abe Lincoln

Abe Lincoln brings back a bounty of $5 Pizza Hut items to his family. They seem unimpressed by his declaration of the power of the $5 bill. See, his wife (who looks nothing like Mary Todd) explains that a lot of people have their faces on currency: Andrew, Alexander, Ulysses, and Benjamin Franklin…even though he wasn’t even president. She didn’t mention George, and Alexander wasn’t president either. I like the musical fadeout of “It’s All About The Benjamins.” Abe is played by Braden Lynch…anyone know who the wife is? I wonder if people will be amused by this one, or if they’ll think it’s disrespectful to the legacy of Abe Lincoln.

That Pizza Hut Commercial With Excited Steelers Fans

Wrong, you’re not raising her right, because she roots for the Steelers. Yeah, I’m a Bengals fan. By the way, father and daughter are played by a real-life dad/daughter duo: Joshua and Jaidyn Triplett.

Pizza Hut Advertises Shoes That Can Order Pizza And Pause Your TV

Well, this is utterly bizarre. The shoes are called Pie Tops 2.0, because apparently they introduced them last year (how did I miss this?) Anyway, the shoes are being marketed for March Madness, which seems like an ideal time.

Tuesday Throwback: Donald Trump Loves Pizza Hut’s Stuffed Crust

I remember when Pizza Hut came out with Stuffed Crust. Everyone was eating it, and everyone was eating it backwards, like the commercials suggested. Did anyone in 1995 thought Donald Trump would be the Republican presidential candidate 21 years later?

This Homesick Alien Loves Pizza Hut’s Grilled Cheese Stuffed Pizza

I’ve heard pizza compared to sex, in the sense that even crappy pizza is better than no pizza at all. I think Pizza Hut is fine, although many people I know would disagree. But if the little guy gets so emotional about Grilled Cheese Stuffed Pizza, I wonder what his reaction would be if he had some high quality New York pizza or Chicago deep dish (don’t argue…they’re both delicious).

Old Italian People Hate Pizza Hut

Pizza is a traditionally Italian food. Pizza Hut is decidedly different than that standard, and they’re changing even more with their new “The Flavor of Now” menu. So in this new campaign, Pizza Hut shows its new offerings to grumpy old Italians, who don’t like it, or any other “modern” things. I’m not really sure what the point of this ad is, but it’s quite lame and fake.

Aaron Rodgers Eats Pizza Hut With Some Dudes

I guess these Pizza Hut loving guys have moved on from Reggie Bush (who actually had the best performance of his career last year). But after the season Aaron Rodgers had, it’s understandable. These commercials are both somewhat charming and lunkheaded. The real reason for this post is because people have wondered about the song. It’s “Tonight Is the Night” by Outasight. Quite a catchy tune, which explains why it’s popped up in numerous commercials…Pepsi and Honda Civic being notable examples.
