Geico: Karl The Antarctic Researcher Sings “I Want It That Way”

’90s nostalgia comes to the forefront in Geico’s latest. We hear Karl singing karaoke to “I Want It That Way”, much to the annoyance of his Antarctic research colleagues. Karl’s off-key warbling is so bad that it leads one of the men to try to escape into a frigid storm. Luckily, they wrangle in Kevin before he makes it out. This marks the second high-profile “I Want It That Way” spot this year…the first being a Doritos Super Bowl spot with the Backstreet Boys and Chance the Rapper. Karl the karaoke guy is played by Prince Mario-Max Schaumberg-Lippe (he’s a real-life royal), and Kevin is Kevin Camia.

Aldi: This Teenage Girl Has An Unfortunate Tattoo Of Kevin

That foot tattoo of Kevin is just brutal. Oof. I wonder if she went to the tattoo guy from that AT&T commercial. But as the girl’s mom explains, some things you can’t take back. Unless you went to Aldi, where their “Twice As Nice” guarantee means that if you’re not happy for any reason, they’ll give you a refund and replace it. The girl snarkily asks “why don’t you just return me then?” And mom snarkily replies that she didn’t come from Aldi. Burn! Are you annoyed by the mom’s chomping? A lot of online commenters are. Anyone know who plays mom and daughter?

An Adult Macaulay Culkin Stays Home Alone With The Google Assistant

This one is currently #1 on YouTube’s Trending videos, with more with 7.5 million views since being released yesterday. And for good reason…it’s a wildly entertaining Home Alone parody, with the now 38-year-old Macaulay Culkin. My personal favorite part is “Operation Kevin” with the Kevin Durant figure. Well done, Google.

The Hyundai Kona Connects This Earthbound Husband With His Astronaut Wife

Kevin stares at the stars…it turns out his wife Jane is in outer space. They send “miss you” texts. Aww. Probably not a good idea to text while you’re outside working on a space station, but I’ll let it slide. But then the spot pivots. He asks her if she can do “the thing” again. Amazingly, she’s able to unlock his Hyundai Kona from orbit. So is this a cute and funny commercial, or is Kevin a complete dipshit while Jane is doing big things? Interested to hear what you think. Jane the astronaut is played by Heather Pasternak, and Kevin is played by Brendan Ford. And the song is a cover of Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love”, performed by James Vincent McMorrow.
