Geico: This Couple Has A Man Cave Close To Nature

He wanted a man cave in their new home, but she wanted to be closer to nature. So the couple in this Geico commercial compromised and built an actual cave into their house. And they have a cute grizzly bear visitor who’s quite interested in raiding their fridge. Brad Abrell plays the husband and Heather Simpson (who apparently got frustrated and left the ref) plays the wife.

Downy: This Mom Gets The Wrong Message From Her Daughter’s Wrinkly Clothes

This Downy commercial has been out for almost 2 months now, but I just saw it for the first time. A teenage boy is returning his date back to her house. Their clothes are wrinkled and he comments “those darn seatbelts got me all crumpled up.” Her mom comes to the door, sees their wrinkled appearance, and angrily pulls her inside. Seems that she thinks there was a specific reason they got all wrinkly. Whoops. So he uses Downy WrinkleGuard, and their clothes look much better. She did leave a lipstick mark on his neck though. Commenters on iSpot aren’t fans…what say you? The boy is played by Ryan Connors, girl is played by Ashley Boettcher, and her mom Mrs. Patterson is Heather Simpson. The song playing is “Teenage Love” by Kimball Coburn.

Geico: If You’re A Ref, You Way Overexplain Things

We’re getting to football season now…this is the first weekend for college, while the NFL will start next weekend (well, Thursday I guess). So in that spirit, Geico has a new spot from their “It’s What You Do” campaign. Football’s rules can be complex, and so referees are there to make calls, which can sometimes require onerous explanations. Here, a ref and his wife are out to dinner at a fancy restaurant with another couple. After his wife orders langostino lobster ravioli, Zebraman gets up and explains (in ref-like fashion) that he won’t be ordering the same due to a slight shellfish allergy, plus the fact that she already ordered it. Don’t wanna be repetitive, you know. He tries to get chicken tenders and tater tots, with his dinner partners glaring. Unfortunately, they don’t have chicken tenders and tater tots. Probably don’t have nachos either, buddy. The ref is played by Matt Corboy and his annoyed wife is Heather Simpson.

T-Mobile Shows A Babysitter Who Charges Extra Fees

I chuckled at this T-Mobile spot. She’s perhaps not the most responsible babysitter. She charged $30, but the total was $50 after the fees. There’s a pizza ordering fee…we see the son asleep on a pizza box with half-eaten pizza. Then the dog sitting fee, with the daughter giving the dog a not so flattering cut. Finally the rummage through the closet fee, where the babysitter wears the woman’s high heels and snarkily declares “we’re the same size…in shoes.” I mean who is she, Verizon? Haha. The babysitter is Casimere Jollette, and the wife is Heather Simpson.
