State Farm: Chris Paul, James Harden, And Oscar Nunez “Jump Around”…While Ducking

This State Farm campaign with Chris Paul, James Harden, and Oscar Nunez is a fun one. In the latest spot, they’re hanging out and the Houston Rockets’ bear mascot Clutch is in the kitchen making guacamole. Suddenly, House of Pain’s “Jump Around” starts playing on the basketball game they’re watching, and Clutch…gets a bit out of hand. At least the windows still look good. Haha.

State Farm: James Harden Has A Microwave Mishap In Chris Paul’s Kitchen

James Harden decides to heat up some Chinese take-out in the microwave. This is a poor choice, since the metal handle causes the microwave to explode and a kitchen fire ensues. We cut to State Farm “agent” Oscar Nunez commenting to Chris Paul that it was a good thing he kept his fire extinguisher up to date. Turns out that it was Chris Paul’s kitchen. Whoops. James tries to deny that he was the one that caused the fire, but beard evidence suggests otherwise.

State Farm Brings Us Chris Paul Singing Along To “I Want It That Way”

When Chris Paul left the Los Angeles Clippers for the Houston Rockets, he unfortunately also had to leave his long-time State Farm agent, Cliff. As a last assist, Cliff gave him the card for a new agent, Cole Perez. As this new State Farm spot starts, we see Cole (played by Oscar Nunez) showing Chris around Houston. They go bowling. They eat chili fries. When the iconic Backstreet Boys tune “I Want It That Way” comes on the radio, they enthusiastically sing along. Then, they run into two of Chris’ new teammates, James Harden and Trevor Ariza. Seems that James has some car trouble. After picking them up, Harden is still concerned about his vehicle, while Trevor gets in on the karaoke act…quite poorly. Haha. And one of the best parts of the ad is that according to this Adweek article, everyone knew the words to “I Want It That Way.”

The Los Angeles Clippers Are Hot: Chris Paul/State Farm And Blake Griffin/Kia

The Clippers. Long the laughingstock of the NBA and LA’s distant second fiddle, the Clips have the league’s best record and are currently riding a 16 game winning streak. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are big reasons for the turnaround. And they’re getting commercial time now. State Farm has an ad getting rave reviews which tells the story of Chris Paul and his identical twin separated at birth, Cliff. They were both born to assist…Chris on the basketball court, and Cliff as a State Farm agent.

And Kia’s campaign featuring Blake Griffin continues. In these, the always deadpan Griffin travels back in time to give his ’90s child self advice. The spots come complete with classic/crappy songs of the era…Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It”, OMC’s “How Bizarre”, and Eiffel 65’s “Blue.” Stop wearing jean shorts. Haha!
