Cheerios Make This Grandpa Feel At Home

As the commercial starts, we know something is wrong. The elderly man is being driven away from his house presumably by his daughter, and the house is for rent. Is he going to a nursing home? Oh man, that wouldn’t make for an uplifting ad. As they’re driving, she reassures him. Then, the arrive at the daughter’s home where he’s greeted by her husband and excited granddaughter. The little girl relates that her mom said he likes Cheerios, but didn’t say what kind. So there on the kitchen table is like every variety of Cheerios. Awww. How sweet. He’s quite touched, and smiles. A heartwarming spot created by Saatchi & Saatchi New York.

Cheerios Features Last Summer’s Telegenic Interracial Family Again

Remember last year how Cheerios had a commercial starring an interracial family that caused racists to be up in arms? The ad made national headlines and racked up more than 4.6 million views on YouTube. Now, that same family is in a Super Bowl ad for Cheerios, created by Saatchi & Saatchi New York. It’s cute and sweet, with an oblique mention to the awful controversy. Nothing groundbreaking, but it’s nice.

This Cheerios Commercial Featuring A Multiracial Family

It’s 2013. This shouldn’t be a big deal. But apparently, it is to some people. The Internet can be a very dark place sometimes. Besides, it’s a cute ad. For those wondering, the mother is played by Whitney Avalon.
