Dish Network’s Hopper And Obnoxious Boston Accents

I went to college in the Boston area. It’s a great place. But there’s one thing I don’t miss…

I don’t know what’s more annoying: the actual accents or people imitating them (“pahk the cah in Hahvahd Yahd.”) Gahh. Dish Network also has a Hopper ad featuring frequent Commercial Society actress Allyn Rachel. Jumping out of a moving car is a bad idea.

IHOP’s 7 For $7

IHOP. Along with Denny’s, White Castle, Steak ‘n Shake, and Waffle House, it’s a classic 24-hour restaurant that especially caters to the intoxicated. Come to think of it, there’s only a few times I can remember that I’ve gone to IHOP completely sober. This is not a terribly interesting commercial. It’s more of an “informative” type to tell viewers about IHOP’s 7 new meals for under $7. I love meat, but that Bacon-Wrapped Sirloin Steak & Eggs looks nasty…well, the steak at least. But it’s a real sign that I’ve been blogging for a while when the same people are popping up in numerous commercials. Who’s that girl? It’s Allyn Rachel. She’s also been featured as an acutely unaware Facebook user in a Toyota Venza commercial, and a newlywed frustrated by her husband’s McRib addiction.

All Hail The McRib!

Just ate a McRib. Delightfully questionable and mediocre. (Quick aside: is there anything more annoying than those people who refuse to eat fast food and act all self-righteous about it? “I would NEVER put such GARBAGE in my body!” Shut the hell up and eat your alfalfa sprouts.) The limited time only really makes the McRib…they’ll be gone again come November 14. This adds a sense of urgency and might even cause you to second guess your honeymoon. She married a 14 year old! And in case you’re eagle-eyed/watch too much TV, the wife is played by Allyn Rachel, who was also the Facebook addict in a Toyota Venza commercial.

Bonus video: Homer Simpson and the Ribwich.
