Tecate Takes On Domestic Violence

This is an excellent and engaging ad for Tecate beer, created by Mexican ad agency Nomades. It starts with images of brawny, “manly” men, and a narration about masculinity. Then about halfway through, the narration shifts with the line “a man is defined by how he treats a woman.” We see images of women who are victims of domestic violence, and the ad goes on to state that men who hurt women are not really men. And Tecate doesn’t want their business. The spot concludes with the sobering statistic that 2 out of 3 women are victims of domestic violence in Mexico. Strong stuff.
