Hyundai: Don’t Tell Mom/Dad

I really like this Hyundai Santa Fe commercial. It has a father spending time with his kids, doing fun but somewhat risky and/or morally questionable activities. Thus, the “don’t tell mom” line. But then, the tables are turned. Mom can have some fun too…skydiving with her son. Thus, “don’t tell dad.” It’s cute and tells an interesting story with a fresh perspective.

Interesting, the parents must hate each other!

  2. I LOVE IT! Doesn’t make me want a Hyundai, but still…DON’T TELL MOM!!

  3. D says:

Reprehensible and plain bad parenting. Wtf hyundai? Ill never buy another one.

  4. keanec75 says:

@D your a douchbag, the ad is meant to be funny, not be a parenting class.

    • bob says:

Douchbag? What an idiot. Obviously your parents never attended one. Sounds like you missed a few days of school, too. So you think telling someone to lie to you is a good idea? Real funny when you find out you’ve been lied to, is it? This is how we end up with lying politicians and ignorant, worthless liars like you, boy.

  5. Gary Fletcher says:

Tandem Skydiving with anyone under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited in the United States. I wonder if they were aware of that when they made the commercial.

    • Brian says:

Obviously NOT a skydiver. In the United Stated 16 years old with consent of parent (single not plural). Also, these restrictions only apply on USPA drop zones. I am friends with several jumpers whose parents were skydivers and these “kids” made their first jumps well before they turned 18 years old. As for the commercial … FUNNY and not meant to be politically or socially correct (people, find your funny bone quickly before you get an ulcer).

  6. Duane Ramsey says:

I want to know where Mom is when the rest of the familoy is having so much fun. Finally, she takes her son skydiving or whatever! Don’t tell Dad!!!

  7. Kate says:

OMG it’ a freaking commercial, not a parenting class. Some of you have to get over yourselves.

    • Bharris says:

Commercials are viewed 100’s of times, children are impressionable! They leave an impact whether meant to be funny or not.

  8. Bharris says:

Hate this commercial! Terrible parenting, that’s what the commercial seems to be more about! Lets teach our children to lie!

  9. Kamia Holly says:

i think the parents may be divorced, and the kids actually talk about how fun there dad is around their mom, and she probably gets a little jealous because she feels like she’s fun too so she takes her son skydiving and mocks her ex-husband by saying don’t tell dad.

  10. Denise says:

Well let’s not forget the high percentage of children that get molested every year by siblings, step parents, teachers, priest, and yes birth parents. BUT DON’T TELL MOM OR DAD!!! Yeah those words bring good memories for them.

    • Mandy says:

This commercial has NOTHING to do with children being molested. You’re the only one whose mind went there. Freak!
