That Commercial Where A Nissan Frontier Helps Land A Plane

Yeah…I’m sure it’s JUST like that. And despite the helpful “Fictionalization. Do not attempt” warning on this Nissan Frontier spot, I’m sure someone will try it, and probably die as a result. Though how badass would that be if it actually happened and you saw it?

Bonus video: “Interviews” with those who witnessed and were involved in this crazy fictional event.

AND another “over the top” commercial for the Nissan Frontier.

There is no way someone will try it, you can’t just drive out on the tarmac at a major airport. What makes me sad is how many poor schmucks will go out and buy a Nissan Frontier because of that totally bogus commercial.

  2. JMichael says:

Who is the hottie at the beginning of the commercial that points to the tv screen?

  3. dewey says:

Boeing 727s were discontinued in 1986 (25 years ago) and there are 2 of them in this video. There are less than 100 in any type of service today, mostly freight, and none in U.S. passenger service. I think the ad is stupid, and of course fake.

  4. Tim says:

Obviously ridiculous since a 727 weights between 77 and 94 Tons. However Nissan are probably relying on the fact that many people won’t question how outlandish this claim is.

It smacks of desperation on Nissan’s part.

  5. Bob says:

Not to mention that the landing speed is around 180 knots. A Nissan wouldnt do 180 knots dropping down a well.

  6. Eddie says:

I find it amusing that people are commenting on how this is fake, and how security would stop them. ITS SUPPOSED TO BE OVER THE TOP. Jeesh guys. The definition of sarcasm is making fun of dumb people without them knowing it.

  7. Its fake. CGI is used to create it.

The front wheel’s dead weight would be from 5 to 10% of the aircraft weight, which would put it in the range of 6 to 12 tons. Since the Nissan car is max half-ton, the dead weight alone would flatten the suspension and the tires, and the live load would break the axle.

And even the speed of a landing 727 plane would be more than 150 miles per hour. Its never possible for that car to reach it that quickly. This was a fake video create to advertise the Nissan Frontier car.

  8. Janie says:

    “Fictionalization, do not attempt.”

This is printed on the right hand lower corner of the video.

So, apparently, it is a fake!

  9. fw says:
